CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield woman allegedly lied about the date of a car accident, and she now faces charges of insurance fraud and theft by deception.
The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General has filed charges against 29-year-old Janessa Starr.
According to court documents, Starr was involved in a vehicle accident in Houtzdale on November 7th when she didn’t have auto insurance.
She purchased an insurance policy on November 25th, and then claimed the accident happened on November 29th.
Starr has waived her right to a preliminary hearing.
She is currently free on $25,000 bail.
