CLEARFIELD – In anticipation for Wednesday night’s heavy snow and ice, Clearfield Mayor Mason Strouse has declared a snow emergency.
From 5pm Wednesday to noon on Thursday a set of guidelines will be in place.
Use off-street parking and remove all vehicles from roadways. If you do not have your own off-street parking, please check with a neighbor and ask about parking in their driveway. Clear a 3-foot perimeter around all fire hydrants. Have heating supplies ready and check to ensure heat sources are functioning properly. Assist your neighbors and friends with clearing driveways and sidewalks and check on neighbors that are shut-in or elderly. And report lost utilities or downed power lines to the proper authorities.
The Mayor says that this proclamation is not meant to cause panic but to inform everyone to take the proper precautions.
