Clearfield School District raises taxes and real estate millage

Clearfield – Clearfield School District home and property owners are facing a tax increase.

On Monday, the Clearfield school board approved its final 2022-23 budget with a 4-mill tax increase.

Despite an increase in tax revenue, the district is projecting an overall deficit of nearly $6.7 million.

Business Manager Sam Maney said the shortfall is due to rising operational costs and increases in cyber charter tuition.

While the real estate millage is being raised, both the earned income tax and real estate transfer tax for the Clearfield School District will remain unchanged.
