Clearfield Police: knocking on doors at night, pellet stove smoke

Clearfield, PA – Some residents on the west side of Clearfield were rudely awakened over the weekend. Clearfield Borough Police say they were called to that side of town around 1 or 2 a.m. Sunday for a group of individuals who were pounding on doors and then running away. It happened at several homes, but it does not appear that anyone was caught.

Also in Clearfield, residents ran outside of their home on West 7th Avenue after it filled with smoke from a malfunctioning pellet stove. The Clearfield Fire Department arrived and was able to handle the situation.

1. Police responded to W. 7th Ave for a reported structure fire. Police arrived and found the occupants out of the structure. The structure was full of smoke from a malfunctioning pellet stove. The Clearfield Fire Department arrived and was able to handle the situation.

2. Police are investigating an incident along E. Locust St where a package was stolen and later returned to the owner used.

3. Police were requested to a home along NW 3rd Ave to assist Clearfield EMS with gaining access into a home for medical treatment. As police were responding the victim was able to grant access to EMS.

4. Police responded to a possible damaged water shut off valve along W. Locust St. The Clearfield Municipal Authority was requested and responded to the scene.

5. Police responded to a home along W. 6th Ave for an activated carbon monoxide alarm. The Clearfield Fire Department arrived and found the alarm had malfunctioned and no threat was present.

6. Police were called to several homes on the West Side of town as a group of individuals were pounding on doors and running away. The incidents were around 1:00 and 2:00 AM.

7. Police responded to Nichols St for a disturbance between a male and female. Police arrived and found the altercation to be only verbal. The male advised that he was leaving the residence for the evening.

8. Police arrested a female along E. Market St after she was found to be highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance.
