CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man who told police about a potential drug dealer’s home, causing a multiple-hour standoff in September, has pleaded guilty to several criminal charges.
According to court documents, 53-year old Chad Schwartz entered a guilty plea to felony criminal trespass, as well as misdemeanor counts of drug possession and fleeing from police. Schwartz told police he purchased methamphetamines from Stephen McLaughlin at his Turnpike Avenue residence. As police approached the house, McLaughlin refused to come out, and the surrounding area was shut down for several hours.
Schwartz was sentenced to serve three months up to three years in state prison.
The case against McLaughlin is still pending.
