CLEARFIELD – A 24-year-old Clearfield man will serve a maximum of 14 years in state prison for the sexual assault of a pre-teen girl.

Jonathan Maines was sentenced Monday following his guilty plea to felony charges of statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors.

Maines had been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl in Clearfield in 2022.

District Attorney Ryan Sayers says an evaluation of Maines found that he is not a sexually violent predator.

The sentence handed down to Maines by Clearfield County Judge Frederic Ammerman is a total of four-and-a-half to 14 years in state prison, three years’ probation, registration with authorities under Megan’s Law, no unsupervised contact with females under the age of 18, and completion of sex offender counseling.
