CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County man will spend two to four years in state prison for assaulting a woman with a stick on a Rails to Trails near Curwensville.
According to court documents, 41-year-old Frederick Hazel of Philipsburg pleaded guilty this week to charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Hazel reportedly swung a stick to knock the woman off her bike along the trail between Clearfield and Curwensville in June.
As a result, the victim suffered a concussion as well as head, shoulder, and leg injuries.
In a separate case, Hazel pleaded guilty to weapons and drug paraphernalia charges and was sentenced to an additional one to four years of state prison time.
