Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport Authority requests higher funding in 2023

SHARE NOW

Clearfield – The Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport Authority is requesting a higher funding amount from the township in 2023.

David Schultz, chairman of the authority, addressed the Lawrence Township Supervisors Tuesday and asked for an amount higher than the $5,000 total it was given in 2022.

Schultz said the current amount of funding for the authority is “woefully inadequate.”

The Clearfield-Lawrence Township Airport pays its operational expenses with income received through the rental of hangars, fuel sales, and funding from municipalities.

Township supervisors assured Schultz they would take a look at next year’s budget to see what they could do, but also encouraged him to reach out to other townships in the area to see if they could help.
