CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield-Lawrence Airport Chairman David Schultz visited another local government meeting to request higher funding next year.
Schultz attended the Clearfield Borough Council meeting Thursday to ask for a “rethinking” on the airport’s financial allocation. Schultz made a similar request of the Lawrence Township Supervisors just a few weeks ago.
Both the borough and township gave the airport $5,000 last year, an amount Schultz said is “woefully inadequate” compared to previous years’ allocations.
Schultz suggested to the council that some of the infrastructure money the borough received due to the pandemic could be directed to the airport, and he asked council members to give it some thought.
