CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield man is behind bars after he allegedly used a knife to break into a Clearfield hotel room last week.

On January 3rd police were dispatched to the Budget Inn for reports of a disturbance.

They learned from a woman who was staying in one of the rooms that 25 year-old William Hynd was trying to enter the room stating he had belongings there.

Police then told Hynd to leave and not to return to the hotel.

Less than an hour later, police were called back to the location, being told that Hynd had returned and allegedly broke into the room.

Once on scene police noticed the door was open with visible damage, a witness also told authorities that he had allegedly used a knife to pry open the door.

Police were able to find Hynd and take him into custody and transported to the Clearfield County Jail where they found needles and smoking devices, both believed to have been related to drugs.
