Clearfield couple arrested after motorcycle police chase

Lawrence Township, PA – A high-speed police chase ended with a Clearfield County couple getting arrested for fleeing from law enforcement and also drug charges.

Lawrence Township Police say they attempted to pull over a red rocket motorcycle on Weaver Street and Rockton Mountain Highway on May 26.

The driver, 44-year-old Richard Gearhart Jr. from Clearfield had outstanding warrants through the Clearfield Sheriff’s Department.

However, when officers attempted to stop him, Gearhart reportedly fled from police, leading officers on a 15-mile pursuit at speeds over 100 mph.

The chase ended in Pike Township near Laurel Run Road. Gearhart ditched his motorcycle and fled on foot. Police later received a call about his whereabouts.

He was allegedly in a vehicle with his girlfriend, 33-year-old Allesia Aughenbaugh from Clearfield, who was helping him escape police.

Another traffic stop was conducted near New Millport, in which both Gearhart and Aughenbaugh were taken into custody. Police located drugs and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

They were housed in the Clearfield County Jail.
