CLEARFIELD – Preservation work on the “Golden Rod” bridge in Clearfield County is scheduled to resume today.
According to PennDOT, the next stages of the project will include repairs to the existing barrier, milling, paving, and line painting. The bridge along Route 322, spans Clearfield Creek in Lawrence Township. PennDOT officials say the remaining work will not require a detour, and an open lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. But if you regularly drive across the “Golden Rod” bridge, be alert to work crews and posted speed limits, as well as intermittent flagging during milling and paving.
The $1.2-million project is improving the bridge structure’s condition rating from “fair” to “good.”
