CLEARFIELD – On Monday, a Clearfield County woman was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in state prison for providing the drugs that killed a county jail inmate last summer.

According to court documents, 39-year-old Angela Ricketts of Clearfield pleaded guilty to smuggling various drugs into the Clearfield County Jail. Three female inmates reportedly overdosed on those drugs, and 31-year-old Kaitlyn Evans died from what doctors called a multi-drug overdose including fentanyl. Ricketts confessed to smuggling fentanyl, cocaine, and two other controlled substances into the jail.

Judge Paul Cherry’s sentence of Ricketts includes a total of 87 months-to-20 years in state prison.
