CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County woman accused of hitting a doctor at Penn Highlands DuBois has been sentenced to serve up to three years in state prison.
According to court documents, 38-year-old Teri Patterson pleaded guilty this week to charges of aggravated assault and harassment.
Patterson, of West Decatur, had originally been accused of not only swinging her fists at the doctor, but also yelling insults and obscenities, and fighting with and trying to bite and kick other hospital staff.
Patterson’s jail sentence is 11 months to three years, and Clearfield County Judge Paul Cherry noted that her mental health and aggressive behavior issues can best be dealt with at a state facility.
Patterson is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail. She is facing charges of strangulation, simple assault, and harassment in an unrelated case.
