WOODLAND – A Woodland Woman is facing felony charges for allegedly falsifying credentials to become a preschool teacher.
Police say that 31 year-old Hillary Lamont was under investigation in March for alleged drug use.
After investigating, officers found tramadol hydrochloride, Oxycodone, and alprazolam in Lamont’s laptop bag.
She claimed they were prescribed and never used on school grounds. When questioned, she also told officers that she had a prior offense seven years prior.
When officers looked into Lamont’s background check at the institution, the forms looked to be altered.
All forms were dated in 2017 instead of the appropriate 2023 dates. Since Lamont was charged for prior drug offenses in October of 2017, a background check dated in the same year would not show the infraction.
The 31 year-old is now facing three felony charges related to public record tampering.
She waived her right to a preliminary hearing, sending the case to common pleas court.
