
MAHAFFEY – Animal cruelty and neglect charges are pending against three Clearfield County residents.
State Police say a 60-year-old man, 31-year-old woman, and 16-year-old boy are suspected of shooting and mistreating a dog near Mahaffey.
According to the police report, an English Mastiff dog was found in Greenwood Township with a gunshot wound to its head, a shoestring tied around its muzzle, and in deplorable health. The dog is recovering following treatments at animal hospitals in State College and Pittsburgh.
The unnamed suspects have allegedly confessed to acts of animal cruelty.
Criminal charges against the three will be filed soon in magisterial district court.
