SHARE NOW

CLEARFIELD – The way you will be notified about inmate escapes and other emergencies at the Clearfield County Prison was thoroughly discussed at this week’s Prison Board meeting.

A new draft policy for alerting the public states that Warden David Gallagher will immediately contact the 9-1-1 Center, which will then distribute public alerts through its electronic emergency applications.

Gallagher will then advise the district attorney and county commissioners, and then finally the other prison board members with all the necessary information.

Also at the meeting, Controller Rob Edwards reported that the jail’s operating expenses are still running high due to medical costs; and Warden Gallagher noted that the staff is currently short four officers.
