CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County man will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars after being sentenced for the sexual assault of two children.
Edward McGuire of Morrisdale was facing hundreds of charges for assaulting two pre-teen girls he babysat at his Graham Township home.
According to court documents, 74-year-old McGuire was sentenced to serve a total of 17 and a half to 35 years in state prison. Clearfield County President Judge Frederic Ammerman also ruled that McGuire is now classified as a sexually-violent predator who must attend sex offender counseling, have no unsupervised contact with any female under the age of 18, and comply with Megan’s Law requirements.
