Clearfield County man sentenced to 18 years in federal prison

PITTSBURGH – A Clearfield County man has been given a lengthy federal prison sentence after being found guilty of drug trafficking and money laundering crimes.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 27-year-old Derek Hillebrand of Troutville will spend 18 years behind bars followed by five years of supervised release.

Hillebrand was tried in federal court for receiving and distributing at least 220 pounds of methamphetamine, plus 100 kilograms of marijuana in Clearfield and Jefferson counties. He was also convicted of mailing more than $1-million in drugs proceeds to California.
