CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County man has been sentenced to nine months to two years of county jail time following his guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter and DUI charges.

According to court documents, 25-year-old Joel English of Woodland was accused of driving drunk in November 2020 when he crashed his vehicle, and a passenger, 24-year-old Travis Shaw, was killed.

Three Clearfield County women faced charges earlier this year for helping English leave the scene of that fatal wreck.

Reports indicate that 49-year-old Jenny Peters of Philipsburg, 47-year-old Stacey Peters of West Decatur, and 27-year-old Drew Peters of Woodland were each given a sentence of probation, fines, and 100 hours of community service.
