SHARE NOW

CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County man was sentenced Monday up to four years in state prison on charges connected with the near-fatal fentanyl overdose of his 11-month-old child.

According to court documents, Raymond Nestlerode of Curwensville pleaded guilty to felony counts of child endangerment.

In January, EMS responded to Nestlerode’s and Amber Jaeger’s apartment where their young son was unresponsive. The baby was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. A report from the hospital stated that fentanyl was found in the baby’s system, and that he likely would have died without medical intervention. Multiple traces of fentanyl and drug paraphernalia was allegedly found in the apartment, and both Jaeger and Nestlerode reportedly admitted to police that they have a history of drug use.

Jaeger is scheduled for sentencing in July.
