HOUTZDALE – Multiple felony charges have been filed against a Clearfield County man for allegedly stealing nearly $300,000 from a relative while he had power of attorney over her finances.

According to court documents, State Police have charged 61-year old Steven Flango of Ramey with 19 counts of theft, receiving stolen property, and financial exploitation of an older adult.

Flango is accused of tricking the victim into signing for a personal loan of $125,000, signing for various loans taken out on her life insurance policies, and depositing an $86,000 investment CD check written out to the victim into his own account.

Over the past eight years, investigators say Flango stole a total of $293.853 from the victim. A preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
