HomeCrimeClearfield County man charged in NC fatal shootingClearfield County man charged in NC fatal shootingTue, July 6, 2021 by wcednewsSHARE NOW North Carolina – A Clearfield County man has been charged in a fatal shooting in North Carolina.Authorities from the Elizabeth City Police Department report that 52-year-old John Landry has been charged with murder for the death of 54-year-old Jacqueline Castel from Flinton, PA.Officers were called to a Quality Inn in Elizabeth City, NC, on June 26. They found the body of Castel lying in bed with a gunshot wound to the head.Landry was taken into custody in connection with the shooting. He also has a fugitive warrant from Virginia.He’s originally from Pumpkin Ridge Road in Clearfield County, between Westover and Coalport.He’s being held with no bond for the murder charge and on $100,000 for the fugitive warrant.
