CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County man is facing felony theft charges for allegedly stealing more than $12,000 from a Penn Township store where he was employed.

State police say 40-year old Harold Burnett III of Curwensville is accused of pocketing at least seven bank deposits, and an audit of the store’s finances revealed that more than $12,750 is unaccounted for. The store’s district manager claims that Burnett can be seen on video surveillance removing money deposits from a safe on several different occasions.

When police questioned Burnett, he said he will “pay the fine and pay the money back.”

Burnett’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 17th.
