CLEARFIELD — Bail has been denied for a 19-year old Clearfield County man who allegedly attacked a pregnant woman and threatened to kill her and another person with a brick.
According to State Police, Ezekiel Mayhew of Morrisdale has been charged with felony aggravated assault with extreme indifference, and misdemeanor charges of false imprisonment, terroristic threats, and simple assault.
Troopers say Mayhew was detained and arrested at a Cooper Township residence last week. Court documents allege that Mayhew had a woman trapped in a bedroom inside the home with a brick after a verbal argument turned physical. The victim also claimed Mayhew punched her in the stomach, knowing she was four months pregnant. Mayhew initially told police he never punched the victim, but he later stated he “blacked out” and wasn’t sure of what exactly happened during the incident.
Mayhew’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday.
