Clearfield County Jail releases more details about escapees

Clearfield – While the search continues for one Clearfield County Jail escapee, the warden has given more details about how two inmates escaped last month and how future escapes can be avoided.

Warden David Kessling gave the report at a Prison Board meeting.

Donald White of Brockway and Robert Miller Jr. of Clearfield ran away from a grass-cutting detail on May 30th.

It was learned at Tuesday’s meeting that neither escapee should have been working outside the jail since they were pre-trial detainees.

46-year-old White was captured by State Police on Friday after receiving multiple tips on his whereabouts.

51-year-old Miller Jr. is still on the loose.

Kessling took responsibility for the escapes, saying “no matter what, as the warden, I’m responsible.”
