CLEARFIELD – The wait continues for the completion of the project to install a new locking system at the Clearfield County Jail.
Over $1-million has been spent by Clearfield County to update and upgrade the jail’s locks, but a final $10,000 payment is being withheld.
At the Clearfield County Prison Board’s latest meeting, it was reported that while all the locks have been installed, the control system panels have not yet been installed. The contractor responsible to complete the project says they are still waiting for the control panels to arrive.
Prison Board member, Judge Fredric Ammerman said he doesn’t think the final payment should be issued to the company until the work is finished and satisfactory.
