Clearfield County Homicide Suspects Receive “Outside” Defense

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County couple facing charges of homicide and conspiracy following last month’s shooting death of 33-year-old Kodey Parks will be receiving legal help from outside of the county public defenders’ office.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, both Bryan Michaelis and Danielle Parks requested public defenders, but there is a reported conflict of interest between the Clearfield County public defenders’ office and the victim of the shooting. DA Ryan Sayers said Michaelis will instead have counsel from a Reynoldsville attorney, and a State College attorney has been appointed for Parks.

State Police say Kodey Parks was shot to death on February 24th in a Morris Township home, and evidence points to Michaelis and Danielle Parks conspiring to kill her ex-husband during a custody exchange.
