Clearfield County government employees send message to county leaders

SHARE NOW

Clearfield – Some Clearfield County Government employees stayed home from work Monday morning in an attempt to send a message to county leaders about pay and benefits.

In a released statement, the workers claimed the current work conditions are “not good.”

The county commissioners have stated multiple times that raising wages and maintaining the same level of benefits is not achievable, and would become too much of a local tax burden.

There was a note posted on the door to the Prothonotary’s office Monday morning notifying courthouse visitors of the “staffing shortage” and directing them to contact the commissioners’ office.
