CLEARFIELD – A $3,500 annual pay raise was approved for most non-union, salaried employees of Clearfield County this week.
The county’s Salary Board voted in favor of the pay increases, following a round of raises approved earlier this year for employees of Children and Youth Services, Probation, and residual unions. County Commissioners Dave Glass and Tim Winters supported the pay boost, saying the county was encountering some situations where employee salaries were up against those in management.
Commissioner John Sobel voted against the raise noting that county government should reflect the community, and most residents of Clearfield County aren’t receiving what amounts to be a 13-to-15 percent pay increase.
