CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield County couple has been jailed on charges of child endangerment after their 11-month-old baby allegedly overdosed on fentanyl.

According to court documents, both 28-year-old Amber Jaeger and 41-year-old Raymond Nestlerode of Curwensville are charged with three felony counts of child endangerment, and two counts of reckless endangerment.

Emergency medical services were called to the couple’s apartment earlier this month where their young son was found alive but unresponsive. The baby was later revived with NARCAN, and was taken by helicopter to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. A report from the hospital stated that fentanyl was found in the baby’s system, and that he likely would have died without medical intervention.

When State Police searched the couple’s apartment, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia items were allegedly found. Both Jaeger and Nestlerode reportedly admitted to police that they have used fentanyl.

The preliminary hearings for the couple will be on February 7th. They are being held in the Clearfield County Jai in lieu of $50,000 bail each.
