Clearfield County couple face over 130 counts of animal cruelty and neglect charges

CLEARFIELD – Over 130 counts of animal cruelty and neglect charges have been filed against a Clearfield County couple after dozens of dead cats were found in boxes outside their apartment in Hyde.

Lawrence Township Police say 32-year-old Ana Houston and 36-year-old Thomas Rowles have been charged with 36 counts of felony cruelty to animals, 36 counts of misdemeanor neglect of animals, and 62 counts of misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Police and members of the Clearfield County SPCA reportedly found seven boxes containing the remains of three dozen dead cats outside the couple’s front door on Friday.

Another 26 living cats were found at the apartment.

They were removed and are now being cared for at the Clearfield County SPCA.
