CLEARFIELD – Felony assault and child endangerment charges have been filed against a Clearfield County couple after a one-year-old boy suffered skull fractures and multiple bruises.
According to court documents, 27-year-old Abigail Bumbarger and 31-year-old Franklin Minicucci, both of Clearfield, brought the child to the Emergency Department of Penn Highlands DuBois in August. The boy was diagnosed with two skull fractures and a brain bleed, and he was taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for additional treatment. A doctor there reported that the one-year-old had multiple bruises and injuries resulting from physical child abuse.
Bumbarger is currently being held in the Clearfield County Jail with a preliminary hearing scheduled for February 21st.
The case against Minicucci is currently listed as inactive.
