CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Borough Council has affirmed their decision to dissolve and defund the Clearfield Regional Police Department.
This move follows ongoing shortfalls in the budget, leading lawmakers to make the decision to dissolve the agreement with the police commission.
After learning they could not legally dissolve the agreement without a year’s notice, lawmakers submitted a letter of intent with the possibility of discussions being open.
However, council members recently took additional action to move forward with the dissolution.
