DUBOIS — More than $300,000 in taxpayer money has been spent by the City of DuBois to pay the legal bills of former City Manager Herm Suplizio, and for legal representation for others interviewed during the corruption probe.

According to numbers obtained by Spotlight PA and reported last week, the city has spent at least $274,000 on Suplizio’s behalf, and more than $32,000 for the others.

Suplizio is now facing federal charges of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from DuBois for nearly a decade.

At its reorganization meeting last Tuesday, DuBois City Council voted 3-2 to terminate Suplizio’s employment. Suplizio had been officially suspended, and on paid administrative leave, since March last year.
