City of DuBois begins flushing fire hydrants, impact to resident’s water

DUBOIS – The City of DuBois has begun flushing fire hydrants around the City, and it may affect city resident’s water.

According to the City, the Water Department began flushing lines at the Water Filtration Plant and moved onto fire hydrants located in the Second Ward yesterday.

Fire hydrants will continue to be flushed around the clock, night and day, until the work is completed based on a report from the City.

After the Second Ward is completed, hydrants will be flushed in the Fourth Ward, Fifth Ward, First Ward, and finally, the Third Ward.

The City reported the flushing should last approximately one week, and residents may experience cloudy or dirty water for a period of time following the water line flushing.
