HomeLocal NewsChristmas tree from Pennsylvania chosen for White HouseChristmas tree from Pennsylvania chosen for White HouseWed, October 12, 2022 by Louise BennettSHARE NOW Auburn – A tree from Pennsylvania will grace the White House this Christmas.The White House Executive Usher Robert Downing joined Pennsylvania’s Agriculture Deputy Secretary Fred Strathmeyer Jr Monday at Paul and Pam Shealer’s Evergreen Acres Tree Farm in Schuylkill County to select a tree.Shealer’s farm won the 2020 PA Farm Show Christmas Tree Competition and went on become 2022 Grand Champion at the National Christmas Tree Association’s National Tree and Wreath Contest.An Evergreen Acres tree was also selected for the White House in 2000.Pennsylvania boasts a total 1,400 Christmas tree farms, producing one million cut trees each year.
