DUBOIS – Child endangerment charges against a DuBois couple are moving forward in Clearfield County Court.

DuBois City Police say the two young children of 35-year-old Arden Barber and 29-year-old Ashley Lewis walked to a Sheetz store in August and said they were hungry so they were going to get food.

A witness had reported to police that the six-year-old girl and four-year-old boy crossed the busy lanes of East Park Avenue to get to the store.

Barber and Lewis were allegedly asleep when the children left the house and walked to the store unattended.

Barber and Lewis waived their rights to a preliminary hearing last week.

They are both currently free on $5,000 bail.
