DUBOIS – A highly anticipated community event, which has been on hiatus for the past five years returned this weekend, bringing a plethora of foods, sauces, drinks, and sweets donated by the community.

The 28th annual Wing Fling, hosted by the DuBois Area United Way, brought over 8,000 chicken wings of various flavors in addition to burgers, hot dogs, drinks, snacks, and desserts, all donated by over 20 area businesses.

We spoke with Pam Walsh, a longtime board member of the United Way, who relayed how heartwarming it was to see the community turn out for a great cause.

“We had to take some time off because of COVID,” explained Walsh. “We were just happy that everybody was able to come back and bring it back better than ever.”

All funds raised by the 2024 Wing Fling went directly back to the United Way, paving the road for their mission to give back directly to the Tri-County Area.
