DUBOIS – The Priority First Federal Credit Union Community Spotlight Cares Advertising Grant for the month of April goes to: The Chemo Care Bag Project.
The Chemo Care Bag Project began as a tribute to Chauncey and Lynn Smith, and it was started by their daughter.
Supporters sponsor a cinch-sac bag.
The bag is filled with items that are helpful and comforting to those going through cancer treatment.
The bags are then delivered to patients at six regional cancer treatment centers, including DuBois and Clearfield.
More than 500 bags have been delivered this year, and more than 1,800 chemo care bags have been provided since the project began eight years ago.
