YOUNG TOWNSHIP – A Houtzdale man is facing multiple charges related to a 2023 fatal overdose.
42 year-old, Eric Zmitravich, is facing six felony charges related to a 2023 drug overdose that killed one man.
On April 25th 2023 police were dispatched to 2548 Harmony Road in Young Township for reports of three unresponsive victims. Police were able to revive two, but one male, later identified as 61 year-old Robert Harmick Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police were able to question a female on the scene, later identified as Ashlee Bennett, about what happened. She told police that her and Zmitravich found the victims lying on the floor unresponsive at which point they called 911.
Police did not question Zmitravich as he was visibly impaired.
It was later discovered that Zmitravich allegedly gave all the victims what he said was cocaine, the toxicology report however, showed all the victims and Zmitravich had methamphetamine fentanyl in their systems.
Since this broke Zmitravich’s parole, he was taken to SCI Houtzdale Prison.
He is now awaiting a preliminary hearing on September 12th.
