Changes at Clearfield County Jail lead to increase in morale and expenses

Clearfield – Morale is up, but so are expenses at the Clearfield County Jail.

At Tuesday’s meeting of the Clearfield County Prison Board, new Warden David Gallagher reported that morale is increasing as an “open door” policy for communication has been implemented, staff scheduling changes have taken place, and an increased starting wage for corrections officers has begun.

The good news was tempered a bit by a report from Controller Robert Edwards who informed the Board that while the jail is still ahead of its budget, expenses are increasing due to mandatory drug treatment programs.
