Cell phone stolen, $778 transferred in Clarion County

Clarion, PA – A cell phone was stolen in Clarion and then used to access the victim’s financial info to send money.

The 44-year-old Clarion woman told police that her Samsung cell phone, worth about $60, was taken sometime between March 1 and 7.

The unnamed thief then used the cell phone to transfer $778.16 to himself using Facebook Pay.

State Police in Clarion do not give the identity of anyone involved.
