DUBOIS – The FBI has alerted DuBois Area School District officials on how students were unknowingly in contact with a child predator.
According to the Superintendent Wendy Benton, the FBI visited the high school claiming that some students were in contact with a fake online identity that in actuality was a known child predator being tracked by law enforcement.
While there is no immediate harm towards students, the Superintendent would like to remind you that Catfishing can be dangerous to everyone involved.
While the school has taken proactive measures like presentations from the District Attorney and Clearfield County Juvenile Probation, you are urged to keep vigilant of who your child is talking to online.
