Car being cut for scrap catches fire near Curwensville

Pike Township, PA – A vehicle caught fire Sunday evening while someone was cutting it up for scrap.

The car had been parked along the Curwensville Tyrone Highway in the Bloomington section of Pike Township.

The fire got out of control, so the individual called for firefighters.

Crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames and returned to their home stations within 45 minutes.
