Burnside man strikes tree, flown to hospital

Burnside Township, PA – A serious crash sent one man to the hospital via medical helicopter in Clearfield County.

39-year-old Douglas Turner from Burnside had been driving his Subaru Legacy on Dowler Highway in Burnside Township on Oct. 14.

He missed a curve, went off the road, and struck a tree.

Turner had to be flown from the scene to UPMC Altoona with injuries of unknown severity.

He had not been wearing a seat belt.

State Police in Punxsutawney are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.
