DUBOIS – An annual donation drive to collect blankets, hats, gloves, and other warm items is expanding.
Typically held by the Free Medical Clinic of DuBois, the drive collects warm items to give back to those in need during the colder months.
Now this year, they are partnering with Downtown DuBois, Sunny 106, and Family Dollar in DuBois and Big Run to expand their reach to the community.
We spoke with Shirley Dahrouge, with Downtown DuBois on the meaning behind the drive.
“This is a necessity,“ explained Dahrouge. “It is something often that I think is overlooked, and we want to bring awareness to it, and provide the warmth to those less fortunate.”
Between Monday the 13th and Friday February 28th you can donate items to the Free Medical Clinic, Sunny 106 lobby, or Family Dollar. All items donated will be given back directly to those in our community in need.
