A Brookville woman has been scammed out of nearly $10,000.
State Police are investigating last month’s theft in which someone gained access to a 64-year-old woman’s personal computer and told her that her security system had expired.
The victim then wire transferred $9,800 to a bank account in Birmingham, Alabama.
The investigation is ongoing.
