DUBOIS – Six teams from local schools came to a head at the 2025 Scholastic Challenge at Penn State DuBois facing off in a battle of the wits.
Teams of four competed in a single preliminary round, leading to a two-round final with two participants. They answered 40 questions worth 10 points each, with a -5 penalty for wrong answers
In the end, last year’s champions, the Brookville Area High School, took the gold with a final score of 195 points.
“It was the same team last year, for the most part,“ explained Brookville’s Advisor Melinda Reitz. “They’ve been super excited about coming, they’ve been practicing, and they were ready to go.”
DuBois Area School District took 2nd place in the last few questions of round two with 125 points. Brockway took 3rd with 115 points. Clearfield won 4th place with 30 points. And St. Marys placed in 5th with -10 points.
