FALLS CREEK — A charge of felony retail theft against a Brookville man accused of taking two small bags of potato chips was enough to land him in the Jefferson County Jail.
State Police say surveillance footage shows that 41-year-old Matthew Upton stole the chips from an area business in April, and while investigating they discovered that Upton has three previous retail theft convictions.
Following his arraignment, Upton was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail with bail set at $10,000.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday.
